Register By Oct. 21 For Chester's 'Trunk Or Treat' Festivities

CHESTER, NJ — Chester Borough and Township families can enjoy a ghoulishly-good time at the borough and township's upcoming Trunk or Treat event.

Hosted by Chester Township Recreation, with assistance from the Chester Police, Volunteer Fire Department and First Aid Squad, the free event on Saturday, Oct. 23 at Chubb Park on 290 West Main Street, starts at 4 p.m.; and has an action-packed lineup until it winds down at 8 p.m.

The event’s rain date is planned for the following day, Oct. 24, beginning at 3 p.m. and no movie will be in the lineup.

Those handing out candy will be in the running for the “best decorated trunk” contest, with kids, adults and even their pets on leashes, able to compete for best costumes.

Those who would like to pass out candy from their trunks should expect there to be a minimum of 300 trunk-or-treaters attending.

The schedule, should the event happen on Oct. 23 and not the rain date is:

4:00 - 4:30 p.m. - Enter the Park and Decorate
4:30 - 5:30 p.m. - Trunk or Treating Event
4:30 - 6:15 p.m. - “Monster Mash Music” with DJ Randy Backer
5:30 - 6:00 p.m. - Costume Parade
6:00 - 6:15 p.m. - Announcement of Contest Winners
6:15 - 8:00 p.m. - Screening of the Movie “Hocus Pocus”
