Restrictions Coming To Buttermilk Falls In Mendham

MENDHAM, NJ - A number of issues in the Buttermilk Falls, India Brook Park area have prompted some changes and reminders from the Mendham Township Police Department.

Citing a number of issues over the past few weekends at the Buttermilk Falls Area, officials said they wanted to highlight a few important things:

• PLEASE CARRY IN/CARRY OUT all of your trash and garbage; there has been large amounts of trash left behind and has taken our twp staff hours to clean up
• Alcohol and Underage drinking are NOT permitted in any of our parks
• Grills or Cooking Fires are NOT permitted
• Please park only in designated areas
• Practice social distancing and respect peoples space! Wear a Mask if this is Not Possible!

"Starting this weekend we will be restricting parking and closing lots once they are at capacity to ensure there is no overcrowding of the falls area," police posted to social media. "We will be paroling this area regularly as well."

Mendham Township Police noted a number of parks in the area have been closed for similar issues.
