Slick Rush Hour Roads In New Jersey As Nor'easter Leaves Ice, Snow
At least one traffic fatality reported as National Weather Service's "Hazardous Weather Outlook" remained in effect Thursday.

A National Weather Service alert remained in effect Thursday morning as New Jersey’s rush hour commuters dealt with the worst remnants of Winter Storm Damon: low temperatures, ice and slick roads.
Winter Storm Damon wound down over New Jersey and Pennsylvania Thursday morning after delivering a second pulse of atmospheric energy that breathed new life into the nor’easter, and dumped 1-6 inches of snow in New Jersey.
Temperatures dropped into the 20s Thursday morning in New Jersey and climbed about 10 degrees by 8 a.m.

As the snow and sleet fell, cars struggled to manage through the black ice that slickened New Jersey’s roads on Wednesday and Thursday morning.
A 23-year-old man was killed in a Route 295 accident in South Jersey on Wednesday. Jeremy Jackson, 23, Williamstown was pronounced dead at the scene.

A serious car crash was reported on I-287 southbound at mile-marker 28.2 when a Silver Acura crashed into the right guardrail. according to the State Police. A man was transported to Morristown Medical Center.
Also:
- As of 7:38 a.m., there was an accident on the Garden State Parkway northbound south of Exit 81 in Toms River. All lanes were open to traffic.
- As of 7:42 a.m., there were delays on the Garden State Parkway northbound from north of Exit 77 to Exit 83 in Toms River. Allow 35-40 minute additional travel time.
- As of 7:37 a.m., there were delays on the Garden State Parkway northbound from Exit 142 to south of Exit 143 in Irvington. A 2 1/2 mile delay was reported, due to volume.
- As of 7:25 a.m., there were delays on the Garden State Parkway southbound from south of Exit 149 in Bloomfield to south of Exit 147.
- There were weather-related speed restrictions on the Delaware River crossings to Philadelphia and Staten Island bridges.
- As of 8:53 a.m., there were downed wires and a utility pole down on U.S. 30 eastbound Lindenwold. Right lane remained closed.
- As of 8:50 a.m., there was an Accident on Route 440 southbound ramp to Route 35 in Perth Amboy. Partial ramp closed.
- As of 9:08 a.m., there were delays on I-80 eastbound between Exit 35 and Exit 43, or I-287 in Parsippany-Troy Hills.
Areas hard-hit by Superstorm Sandy two years ago were among the first to face Damon, bringing minor to moderate coastal flooding to the Jersey Shore. In some areas, tides reached their highest levels since the superstorm, according to The Weather Channel.
