3 Middletown North Seniors Commit to Division I, II College Teams

Football players Donald Glenn, Dwight Wilkerson and soccer player Scott Weigel all committed to college athletic programs.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ - Three seniors from Middletown North committed to continue their sport at the Division I and Division II college level:

Next fall, Scott Weigel will play soccer for High Point University, a Division 1 program in North Carolina, and Donald Glenn will play football for Wagner College in Staten Island. That's a photo of Donald, at left, and Scott signing their letters of intent this week at Middletown North. Dwight Wilkerson, who is not pictured, also on the Middletown North football team, committed to play football for East Stroudsburg. Wilkerson was a verbal commit to East Stroudsburg but has not yet signed any paperwork.

"I plan to study criminal justice and get my degree in law and go to pre-law after that. This is a great opportunity they gave me; I've been dreaming about this since I was little," said Wilkerson. "This is the best thing that's ever happened to me."

The chance to become a Division 1 college athlete is, "a dream come true," said Weigel. "I've been wanting this since I was five years old."
