But if you want to see fireworks, everyone in this area heads to Long Branch for its annual Oceanfest, the largest Fourth of July celebration in the state of New Jersey. Oceanfest is July 4, 2026. The festival starts at 1 p.m.; stroll the shops and boardwalk and then fireworks go off over the ocean when it gets dark, usually around 9 p.m.
