2 People Killed In Tinton Falls Crash Thursday Night

The crash occurred shortly after 7 p.m. at the intersection of Shafto Road and Asbury Avenue. A Brick woman and Manalapan man were killed.

TINTON FALLS, NJ — Two people were killed in a two-car crash in Tinton Falls Thursday evening, Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey announced Friday.

The crash occurred shortly after 7 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Shafto Road (County Route 547) and Asbury Avenue (County Road 16), according to the prosecutor. At that location, first responders located the two cars involved in the collision, a 2021 Audi S6 driven by a 36-year-old Manalapan man, and a 2005 Ford Freestyle driven by a 52-year-old Brick woman.

The Brick woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and the Manalapan man was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries a short while later.

There were no passengers in either vehicle, and the identities of the drivers are being temporarily withheld pending family notification.
