2 Seats Up For Election On Middletown Township Committee

The seats currently held by Rick Hibell and Kevin Settembrino are up for election this year. So far, nobody has filed to run.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Two Middletown Township Committee seats are up for election this year.

They are the seats currently held by Rick Hibell and Kevin Settembrino, both Republican. Their term expires on Dec. 31 of this year.

April 4 at 4 p.m. is the filing deadline for any person who seeks to run for Township Committee. So far, no one has filed paperwork to run, said Middletown Twp. Clerk Heidi Brunt.

If you would like to run for Middletown Township Committee, you need to submit 50 signatures for your petition by April 4. Middletown's elections are partisan, meaning you run with your political party declared. Republican-registered voters can sign petitions for Republican candidates and Democrat-registered voters can sign for Democrat candidates. Submit the petitions with Middletown Clerk Brunt or contact her office with more questions.

The primary is June 7 and the general election is November 8.

The Middletown Township Committee has been run by all Republicans for nearly the past 10 years now.

The Twp. Committee is composed of Hibell, Settembrino, Mayor Tony Perry, Ryan Clark, and Kimberly Kratz, all Republican.
