2-Year-Old Saved From Near Drowning In Monmouth County: Police
The toddler's mother started CPR and officers continued treating the child until medics arrived.
TINTON FALLS, NJ — A 2-year-old child who was found floating face-down in the family pool was revived by the mother and Tinton Falls police officers, the police department said Thursday.
The incident happened Thursday, Aug. 8, Tinton Falls Capt. Gerald Turning Jr. wrote on the department's Facebook page. Officers were called at 6:11 p.m. after the child was found in the pool, unresponsive.
While police were on their way, the child's mother started CPR and by the time officers arrived, the child was breathing, Turning said. The officers then treated the child with back blows to get water out of the lungs and with oxygen. The child was conscious and breathing by the time medics and EMS took the child to the hospital, he said.
