U.S. Congress: Middletown is split between the Sixth Congressional District, long represented by Frank Pallone, a Democrat. This year, he will be challenged by Republican Sue Kiley, the former mayor of Hazlet and a Monmouth County Commissioner.

The southern area of Middletown is part of the Fourth Congressional District, long represented by Chris Smith, a Republican. This year, he is challenged by Democrat Matt Jenkins; Jason Cullen of the Libertarian Party and independents Pamela Daniels, David Schmidt and Hank Schroeder. Smith was the only candidate who did not take part in the most recent public forum, held by the League of Women Voters. Meet The 2022 Middletown School Board Candidates

There are two seats open on the Middletown Township Committee, and two Republicans and two Democrats running.

Current Township committeemen Kevin Settembrino and Rick Hibell are seeking re-election. Both have been on the Middletown Township Committee for several terms now.
