A joyous and celebratory Catholic School Week at Mother Teresa Regional School

Mother Teresa Regional School celebrated Catholic Schools Week (Jan.26- Feb.1) with a variety of events that brought the school and  it’s community together.

On Sunday, Jan. 26 liturgy was celebrated at Saint Catherine Church, one of the five sponsoring parishes of Mother Teresa Regional School.

Following the liturgy, the school hosted an open house from noon to 2 p.m. Prospective families were offered the opportunity to tour the school and interact with faculty and students

On Monday, students came together in a more relaxed setting to enjoy some popcorn and treats and a movie. Tuesday brought a taste of rld cuisine with the International Luncheon. Eighth grade students provided many international delicacies for the school to enjoy during lunch time.

Students, faculty and community members joined together on Wednesday to raise funds for the Shannyn Craig Foundation. Shannyn is the youngest sister of three students who have attended MTRS and suffers from a disorder of the corpus callosum. A mini carnival and dance were held to raise funds.

 

On Thursday, the drama club presented “Twinderella”, in both an afternoon showing for local senior citizens and an evening showing for the entire school community.

 

Liturgy on Friday was celebrated for eighth grade students who received their pins as a symbol of their journey through Catholic education and preparation for graduation.  The ceremony was followed by a brunch for the students and their families. Friday afternoon was a time to say thank you to our fantastic staff with a Staff Appreciation Luncheon.
