MIDDLETOWN, NJ — From your local library, here is everything that's planned. May is also Mental Health Awareness Month.

Meet and Greet with Roxxy the Therapy Horse – May 3 from 4 - 5 pm: Children ages 5 and up are invited to come and meet Roxxy, the miniature horse! Registration is required for each 15-minute session at mtpl.org

Mindfulness Days for Teens: Preventing and Dealing with Emotional Distress with NAMI – May 3 at 7 p.m. Teens are invited to join this program on overall mental wellness. Registration recommended.

Saturday Family Storytime and Craft, Plastic Cups and Coasters – May 6 at 10 a.m.: Children ages 3 and up are invited for picnic and lemonade stories followed by a plastic cup and coaster craft. Registration required at mtpl.org

Read to a Dog for Grades K through 5 – May 11 at 4 p.m. & May 15 at 6 p.m.: Practice literacy skills in front of non-judgmental canine listeners from Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dogs, Inc. Registration is required at mtpl.org

Artist Café Showcase – May 20 1 pm – 4 pm: All are welcome to stop by the library for the final session in the Artist Café Series as local artists display their work and musicians & writers show off their talents.

Virtual Author Talk with best-selling young adult author Courtney Summers – May 20 at 2 p.m.: Register to join the live discussion as the author talks about her upcoming release, "I’m the Girl." This program will also be recorded.

Funny Freckled Frogs with Monmouth County Park System – May 22 at 11 a.m.: Learn all about amphibians during this science storytime featuring puppets, picture books and live animals. Registration is required.

Mindfulness Days for Teens: Beginner Yoga – May 24 at 7 p.m.: De-stress and learn beginner yoga at this mindfulness program for teens. Please bring your own mat and register at mtpl.org

Teen Volunteer Thank You Night – May 31 at 7 p.m.: Teen volunteers are invited to enjoy snacks, crafts and games as a thank you for volunteering at MTPL.
