• Trenton Ironhawks and Governor Sherrill Announce First Five Signings in Franchise History, All with New Jersey Ties (oursportscentral.com) — A Middletown native, forward John Gelatt, is among the first five New Jersey-born players signed by the new Trenton Ironhawks hockey team ahead of its inaugural ECHL season. The team, backed publicly by Gov. Mikie Sherrill, will debut at Trenton's CURE Insurance Arena on October 24, with season ticket deposits already open and single-game tickets coming soon.
