Keansburg Amusement Park Re-Opens

Keansburg Amusement Park will be opening the weekend of March 23, 2013 and will be holding a preseason Buy One/Get One Free ticket sale. Bill and Hank Gehlhaus have been diligently working on rebuilding the parts of the park that have been damaged by Hurricane Sandy. Although there is still work to be done, they have not slowed their pace since the day after the storm. There are a lot of new elements being added.

The Gehlhaus family is serious about coming back bigger and better. They are adding attractions like the Flying Swings, which simulates a high flying ride in a classic looking playground swing. The experience of swaying and whirling on a tilting rotating base makes this ride a crowd favorite.  The Rocking Tug is a new family ride that is all the rage. The owners anticipate that this will be a definite crowd pleaser. For the younger tots, The Truck Stop will be added. This beautiful new attraction makes our younger guests feel like they are really driving a big rig. Every park needs a fleet of Bumper Cars and Keansburg Amusement Park is no different. Even the building that holds the cars will be new. Negotiations are currently underway for two more major ride attractions that will be disclosed very soon.

Who doesn’t enjoy remote control boats? You won’t have to go far because the Gehlhaus Brothers are adding them. The pond is already under construction and is located right in front of the Pharaoh’s Fury thrill ride. We encourage you not to linger too long because you won’t want to miss the new Mining for Gold game. Have fun while you mine through sand with your own pan to search for your very own treasure.

Construction has already begun at Runaway Rapids Waterpark for two new slides. The beautiful Champagne Bowl is a totally new style thriller that is being added to the Power Tower section. There is another new element being built, The Aqua Body Slide. This translucent slide provides an awesome experience as onlookers on the ground watch you splash, twist and turn.

Arcades, arcades, arcades! There are too many to mention but one highlight is The Hurricane. The player enters an enclosure that simulates a hurricane with real fog. Try your endurance at withstanding a 78mph windstorm, this game makes Sandy seem like a rain shower.

There will NOT be a Golden Egg Hunt this year due to the construction but don’t miss the preseason Buy One/Get One Free ticket sale. For each ticket purchased you will receive one ticket free. Don’t wait because the sale ends March 31, 2013 (Easter Sunday)
