HOLMDEL, NJ — Rapper A$AP Rocky was pictured this week on his Instagram account repping the Garden State with all-too familiar threads.

The Manhattan-based musician (real name Rakim Athelaston Mayers) was wearing a varsity letter jacket from well-known New Jersey Catholic prep school Saint John Vianney, which has a campus in Holmdel. Saint John Vianney also runs a Catholic elementary school in the Colonia section of Woodbridge.

A$AP Rocky was pictured with singer Rihanna Tuesday night and captioned his Instagram post "date night," and #westhollywood. The two have been dating since January 2020, according to reports.

Meany said A$AP Rocky "is not a graduate of SJVHS and we have no idea how he obtained a varsity jacket."

The yellow varsity jacket was immediately noticed by Instagram users in New Jersey.

"Which sjv kid sold their jacket," asked one user.

"Once a Lancer, always a Lancer," said another, referring to the SJV mascot, a knight.

"how tf did he get that," asked another. "Where on earth did u acquire an SJV varsity jacket?" said another.

"I love how everyone’s shocked he wearing a SJV jacket," said one.

And one Instagram user simply wrote "Jersey."

This is A$AP Rocky's best song, according to this Patch reporter. It features Grammy winner and California rapper Kendrick Lamar.
