Highlights of this meeting include:

The Township CFO presented the 2019 budget and announced that the tax rate decreased just over 2%. With that, the average homeowner will be paying about $43.74 dollars more, or an increase of 2.07%, per year. A public hearing will be held at the May 6 Township Committee meeting.
A public hearing was conducted on two ordinances. One was an ordinance to borrow $1.7M to fund various projects and purchase a new fire truck. The other ordinance was to increase fees for special duty assignments for police officers.
National Park Ranger, Pete McCarthy, came to inform the township that there is a change in the alcohol policy at Sandy Hook this year. The park will be enforcing a no alcohol or open container policy on the beach this year. They will also enforce a no smoking ban on the beach.
