ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ — The borough of Atlantic Highlands is hiring a police officer. Applications can be picked up now and they must be returned to the Atlantic Highlands Police Department no later than Nov. 15, with a resume attached.

Here are the requirements to apply:

  • Resident of New Jersey and citizen of United States
  • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language
  • High School diploma or its equivalent
  • 18 to 35 years of age
  • Possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license
  • Possess a valid New Jersey PTC certificate, Alternate Route Graduate certificate or Class II Special Officer – Waiver Eligible
  • Must have taken and passed the Monmouth County Chiefs Test
  • Must be of good moral character, sound body and good health
  • No criminal record
  • Able to pass medical examination, psychological examination, background examination and drug screening.

Atlantic Highlands police officers are put on a probationary period of one year. Interested applicants should fill out an application and a resume and return it to the Atlantic Highlands Police Department headquarters no later than Nov. 15.
