August Children's, Teen Events At Middletown Library

Here are all the free programs and events for kids and teens for the month of August:

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Summer reading wraps up in August, but there are more great programs for kids and teens planned for the month of August at the Middletown Public Library.

(Final day to log books for the Summer Reading Challenge on the Beanstack reading tracker is August 4.) What's planned:

Yoga Storytime (ages 3 to 5) – August 2 at 10 a.m.: Join a Yoga Story Time with registered play therapist and children’s yoga teacher, Miss Tara. Read more and register at mtpl.org.

“Jumping Together” Paper Craft (grades K-5) – August 3 at 10 a.m. & 11 a.m.: Children’s illustrator David Udovic will lead this pop-down paper craft using creative drawing, coloring and gluing. Registration is required.

Read to a Dog Drop-in Summer Program (grades K-5) – August 8 at 11 a.m.: Stop by the library to improve literacy skills by reading aloud to a non-judgmental therapy dog! No registration is required.

Teen Movie Night – August 9 at 6 p.m.: Enjoy snacks and watch Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief at the final teen movie night of the summer! Please register teens at mtpl.org.

Talewise presents Science Heroes: Saving Earth Together (grades K-5) – August 14 at 11 a.m.: Science meets storytelling for a fun interactive show that explores Newton’s Laws of motion, air pressure, chemical reactions and more. Please register at mtpl.org.

Family Movie Night– August 15 at 6:30 p.m.: Enjoy a showing of The Super Mario Bros. Movie in the comfort of MTPL’s air-conditioned community room. For all ages, no registration is required.

Barkery Master-Class: Dog Food & Treats via ZOOM – August 15 at 7 p.m.: Learn how to make healthy, inexpensive dog food and treats for your fur babies! For adults & teens. Please register at mtpl.org for ZOOM link.

Earl Hicks Balloon & Movement Program – August 22 at 11 a.m.: Join this fun program for all ages that will transform the community room with balloons! Please register all attendees at mtpl.org.
