Hazlet, New Jersey – In light of all the talk swirling around about the imminent closure of the Red Oak Diner & Lounge, a popular eatery and event venue which is celebrating 50 years in business this year, recent happenings show that the establishment is moving forward with new and exciting plans. “We are not going anywhere,” noted Managing Partner Dan Kalyna, the guy with the million dollar smile that is the face and personality of the place. “Nothing is a done deal yet, and regardless of what happens in the future, we are always going to be the Red Oak. That is just not going to change,” he emphasized.

Meanwhile, there's a new chef in town, and he is busy in the kitchen creating his vision of delicious, and – the customers are going to really LOVE this – the original $5 lunch menu is returning! Customers will
also notice some new choices on the menu as well as some tasty twists on familiar selections.
The Red Oak Diner & Lounge has also become a destination for special events and musical entertainment. On Friday, October 21, comedian Rick Ricadonna will entertain with his unique brand of comedy. The show is hosted by Jackie Byrne and features Kendra Cunningham and begins at 9.30 p.m. Admission is $20 and includes one drink. Tickets are available by calling the diner at (732) 335-9360. The fun continues on Saturday evenings with the addition of the 'Red Oak At Night' Saturday Concert Series, which showcases local musicians. On October 22, the Russell Arcara Duo featuring Russell Arcara on lead vocals and Bob Trewhella on guitar will take the stage. Russell Arcara is a homegrown Hazlet boy who many will recognize and remember. On November 5, Peanut Butter Bridges will perform with lead
vocalist Linda Silverberg-McGowan.

Anyone who likes old cars will be delighted when the Red Oak Diner & Lounge hosts 'Cruising For Cancer' Auto Meet on Saturday, November 5 from 12 Noon to 4 p.m. There will be live entertainment and food and
drink specials throughout the day. The event is FREE to spectators. Anyone who would like to register a car to display in the show may contact Lori Anne Oliwa by email at LoriAnne@TheWriteAngles.com. Registration is $15 in advance or $20 at the event. The car cruise will support the Meridian Health Pink Fund, which provides free annual mammograms to financially-challenged women.
