UPDATE: 42 Now Injured In Massive Fire At Jersey Shore As Building Collapses [VIDEO]

Forty-one firefighters and one civilian were injured in a massive blaze at the Jersey Shore on Friday, authorities said.

An industrial building collapsed after the blaze broke out at a building on West Front Street in Keyport at about 5 p.m., fire officials said.

Firefighters were caught inside, and six firefighters all suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were treated at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel, authorities said. It was not clear if all were hurt in the collapse.

Winds and a ruptured gas line have complicated efforts to contain the fire, but the quick response of local firefighters prevented the blaze from causing even more destruction. About 200 firefighters were at the scene, according to authorities.

The buildings damaged in the fire housed five businesses, which were to be demolished Friday night to help with the ongoing effort to contain the blaze, authorities said.

Several firehouses were called to battle the fire, and dozens of fire trucks and ladder units trying to douse flames as they shot through the roof and ripped through the structure, according to authorities.

Thick smoke was billowing from the building, blanketing nearby streets; One video provided to NBC 4 New York by a witness shows part of the fire-gutted building collapse.

WABC said the fire appeared to be burning through several businesses in the Monmouth County town.

Four firefighters from three different fire companies suffered injuries in the fire, and at least one of the firefighters suffered smoke inhalation, authorities said.

A video showed a fireball billowing from the building as firefighters battled the blaze.

Channel 4 said Radio transmissions between emergency responders show concern over firefighters possibly injured in the blaze.

"Urgent, we have guys down, urgent, mayday," one firefighter is heard saying, and: "Mayday, mayday, mayday."
