Starting in November 2014, the Middletown Arts Center will offer a unique way to enjoy artistic experiences from around the globe by creating a series of culture-specific events that blend performances with culinary tastings, exhibits, workshops, armchair travel presentations and more.
Patrons will have the opportunity to enjoy engaging activities that bring a particular culture to life. Each multi-sensory weekend will be a mini-cultural immersion meant to educate and entertain. Our first Savor the Arts Weekend is scheduled for November 14, 15, and 16 and will feature the culture of Italy.
An Off-Broadway theatrical performance, “Blood Type: Ragu” will come to the MAC on November 15. There will be dinner and wine from 6- 8 p.m. The performance will follow at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $30 for the show, $45 for dinner and the show. Armchair travel presentations on the Almafi Coast and Puglia will also be part of the weekend along with culinary experiences, a “paint and sip” workshop featuring an Italian scene, and more. The MAC will produce a special cook book featuring Italian recipes from the community.
