Car Drives Into Tree On Rt. 35 In Middletown

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — A man had to be extricated from his pick-up after driving into a tree this past Thursday evening on Highway 35 in Middletown, and these are photos provided to Patch of the scene.
The accident happened Thursday, Nov. 1 on Rt. 35 by Harmony Bowl at about 5:40 p.m. The single male driver was unable to get out because there was a sign post in the way of the driver's door.
Fire and EMS removed the sign post and the driver got out with EMS assistance on his own. He was transported to Riverview by Port Monmouth First Aid and MONOC medics with moderate but non life-threatening injuries.

One lane of Rt. 35 was closed for a period of time Thursday evening. Middletown Fire Department was also there to assist.
