Car Flips, Driver Trapped On Hwy. 35 In Middletown Wednesday

This was the scene at Highway 35 and Tindall Road Wednesday night around 8:40 p.m. The medevac helicopter was needed.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Middletown police and EMS responded to a two-vehicle crash Wednesday evening at the intersection of Highway 35 and Tindall Road.

The call came in at 8:38 p.m. Wednesday, said Bob Pfleger, deputy chief and public information officer for Middletown EMS. That car pictured above had completely rolled over, and the driver had to be extricated and transported by State Police medivac chopper to Jersey Shore University Medical Center. His condition is currently unknown.

The driver of the other car was in less serious condition, and was taken by Middletown EMS to Riverview Medical Center.

The crash briefly shut down Rt. 35 for a period Wednesday night and the helicopter took off and landed from Middletown North high school.
