Car Flips On Newman Springs Road Thursday Night

A woman had to be extricated from her car Thursday night in a motor vehicle crash at Newman Springs Road (Rt. 520) and Harvey Avenue.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — A woman had to be extricated from her car Thursday night in a motor vehicle crash at Newman Springs Road (Rt. 520) and Harvey Avenue in Lincroft, according to Middletown EMS units that responded to the scene.

The accident happened at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, when a truck collided with a sedan, causing the sedan to flip over. The female driver of the sedan had to be extricated, and both drivers were transported to Riverview Medical Center, according to Bob Pfleger, public information officer for the Middletown EMS department.

Lincroft First Aid and Rescue Squad responded with their ambulance and their rescue truck, and Port Monmouth First Aid Squad responded as well. This photo from the scene was taken by a Lincroft First Aid volunteer. MONOC paramedics responded and were released from the scene. Middletown Fire Department also assisted.
