CBA Student Honored For Acceptance To Merchant Marine Academy

More than a dozen students from New Jersey were recently congratulated for their acceptance into military academies.

The students attended a reception in the Newark office of U.S. Senator Bob Menendez, according to a news release from his office.

Erik R. Beshada of South River has been accepted into the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

Beshada attended Christian Brothers Academy/Prep School New Mexico Military Institute, the news release said.

The “nominees were chosen for their excellent academic record, distinctive recommendations, and strong character, among other criteria,’’ the news release said.
