CBA Students, Coach Compete in USA Weightlifting Meet
Coach Steve Bare also qualified for the USA Weightlifting 2016 u25 National Championships.

Lincroft, NJ - This past Saturday, Christian Brothers Academy students Christian Recanatini, a junior, and Tim Murray, a sophomore, along with CBA Strength Coach Steve Bare competed in a USA Weightlifting meet in Andover, NJ. Athletes get three attempts at each lift, with the goal of having the highest two-lift total. The venue was outdoors and the day was hot! Many other athletes had issues with hands slipping off the barbell due to sweat or general heat-induced exhaustion.
Christian Recanatini lifted first and won bronze in the sub-69kg(152lb) junior class. Tim Murray lifted second, in the sub-105kg (231.5lb) junior class, though he only weighed 97kg (214lb). He was awarded Gold for the Junior 105kg class.
Lastly, Coach Steve Bare lifted in the senior sub-94kg (207lb) weight class. For his total of 246kg, he was awarded Silver in the senior 94kg class, and qualified for the USA Weightlifting 2016 u25 National Championships.
