Chhange to Present “Actions and Reactions: Why Stand Up to Hate?” with Detective David D’Amico on October 10
Chhange is exploring how incidents of hate speech and violence impact children, families, and communities.

The Center for Holocaust, Human Rights & Genocide Education (Chhange) at Brookdale Community College welcomes the public to a special presentation, “Actions and Reactions: Why Stand Up to Hate?,” on Tuesday, October 10 at 7 p.m. The guest speaker is Detective David D’Amico, Chief Investigator of Internal Affairs for the Middlesex County Department of Corrections & Youth Services.
In light of the events in Charlottesville, Virginia this past summer, Chhange is exploring how incidents of hate speech and violence impact children, families, and communities. “Actions and Reactions: Why Stand Up to Hate?” will spur conversations about those who have encountered hate crimes and how people can take action as heroes, leaders, and role models against bias and violence.
For more than 13 years, Detective D’Amico worked in the Bias Crimes Division of the Office of the Monmouth County Prosecutor. He is a certified trainer in Bias Crimes Investigations, Cultural Diversity, and Sensitivity Training.
