This is not the first time a child has been hit by a car in that area. In 2014, a child was struck by a car traveling at a low speed near Blanche Court and Murphy Road on a Saturday afternoon. The child only suffered minor injuries and was transported to Riverview Medical Center as a precaution. Again, that incident happened on Murphy Road as well, a few blocks from Thorne.
