Sandy Hook Foundation Benefit Concert Is This Sunday

The popular annual late summer concert will be Sept. 26. Come for live music and gourmet food and drinks. Parking Lot E in Sandy Hook.

HIGHLANDS, NJ — Grab your beach blanket or chair and get ready to rock to some of the Jersey Shore’s best performers at the Sandy Hook Foundation’s All-Star Benefit Concert Sunday, September 26.

This is a live music charity concert event held on the sands at Sandy Hook. It is a fundraiser for the Sandy Hook Foundation, which provides many of the community and public events within Gateway National Recreation Area, Sandy Hook.

The concert did not happen last year due to coronavirus.

Proceeds from Sept. 26 music festival will support programs and projects within the park, such as hydration stations on the MUP trail, free yoga on the beach, STARS of Sandy Hook Astronomy program, Hunt the Hook, roller skating, and upkeep of the Lighthouse Keepers Quarters, History House and the Fort Hancock Museum, and much more.

The concert will be at Parking Lot E and Beach on Sandy Hook. “Doors” open at noon, live music from 2-6 p.m. Entrance requires a $12 ticket donation per person until Sept. 22; thereafter $20 ticket donation until Sept. 25. Children under 5 free. Tickets available online at www.sandyhooknj.org

Performers include: The Haven (house band); Tim McLoone (yup, that Tim McLoone); Joe Bonanno; Carl Gentry; Sam Sims and Kyle Ward; Layonne Holmes; Karl Pfeil and Steve Russo; Lisa Sherman; Pat Guadagno (yup, former Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno's brother in law); Robert Murdock and Lee Scott Howard.

Food and drink from David Burke, who grew up in Hazlet

Food and beverage will be available for purchase by New Jersey’s own David Burke from noon to 6 p.m. at The Corral at Lot E, featuring special smoked BBQ cooked on site (vegetarian & other options available) by DRIFTHOUSE (& Smokers Club Meat Company), local craft beers from Beach Haus Bar & Grill (Beach Haus Brewery) and private label wines and sangria by Red Horse.

Beer and wine will be available in The Corral for purchase by individuals 21 and older (must show valid ID).

This is a fair-weather event to be held outside on the beach. Should there be inclement weather and the event canceled, your ticket donation will become a fully tax-deductible donation to support the work of The Foundation, which directly benefits your experiences in the park.

Ticket holders are welcome to bring their own picnic. (Sandy Hook is a carry-in, carry-out park.) No alcoholic beverages are allowed to be brought into the park or on the beaches. Containers are subject to search by park officials.
