Digging Up the Dark Side of Highlands
Retired teacher John P. King told stories from his new book 'Wicked Tales from the Highlands' at Little Silver Public Library
Since moving on from teaching Latin and French at Red Bank Regional High School, John P. King has become involved in some nefarious dealings in the Highlands.
King's research into the dirty deeds of yore in Highlands and Atlantic Highlands is the subject of his new book entitled "Wicked Tales from the Highlands," which he came to speak about and sign at the Little Silver Public Library Monday evening.
In the above video, King recounts the tale of poor John Colman, a crew member of Henry Hudson's Half Moon who became the first European to be murdered in the New World, right here off in September 1609.
