DWI Checkpoints In Sea Bright, Shrewsbury This Weekend

MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ — Every weekend in the summer, the Monmouth County DWI Task Force holds DWI checkpoints.

They will hold two checkpoints this upcoming weekend, Aug. 18-20:

The first will be from 9 p.m. - 1 a.m. Friday night, August 18, in Sea Bright. All northbound vehicles on Ocean Avenue will be diverted into the Sea Bright municipal parking lot.

The second will be from 10 p.m. - 2 a.m. Saturday, August 19, in Shrewsbury. All southbound cars on Rt. 35 will be diverted into the Avenue of the Commons shopping center.

In New Jersey, police are required by law to publicly announce when and where DWI checkpoints will be. That is required to make the checkpoint valid under the U.S. Constitution.
