'Historically Speaking' with Mary Walton

Monmouth County Historical Association presents their "Historically Speaking" Lecture Series with Mary Walton: " A Woman's Crusade: Alice Paul and the Battle for the Ballot."

The venue has changed to the Middletown Arts Center.

Mary Walton will discuss her important book and the woman, Alice Paul, who made suffrage history.

A New Jersey Quaker, Alice Paul was the leader of the militant wing of the suffrage movement from 1913 to 1920.  Hers was a David-and-Goliath struggle to convince a reluctant congress and subborn president to give women the right to vote.  

Admission is free, but pre-registration is requested. Call the MCHA to RSVP at 732-462-1466.

The lectures are open to the public. Refreshments will be served after the lecture.
