
Books Build Bridges, an intergenerational read-in pairing senior citizens with young adults to read picture books to children in grades 1 through 3, will take place at the Middletown Public Library.
A training session takes place for the seniors and young adults from 1 to 2 p.m., followed by the reading session from 2 to 3 p.m.
The event will be held in the community room.

Seniors and young adult volunteers are needed. Sign up now via the library's online calendar, or at the reference desk at the main branch.
The senior/young adult teams also need kids to whom they can read. Children in grades 1 through 3 can sign up on the children's calendar at the library's website. The first registration date for the kids to sign up is scheduled for Oct. 10 at 9 a.m.
