The Middletown Township Public Library is hosting "Dangerous Dames and the Guys Who Loved Them: Four Film Noir classics from Hollywood’s Golden Age."
This event features a screening of The Maltese Falcon (1941) starring Humphrey Bogart and Mary Astor.
According to the library, host "Victor Zak ... offers behind-the-scenes commentary and insight on classic black and white films from the 1940s. The women were cool and slinky. The men, either rescuers or dupes of femme fatales. The action was hot and heavy. But unlike today's movies, when everything seems flung in your face, these stories left something to an audience's imagination. Bring your imaginations and we'll provide the movies on a large screen and popcorn."
