Fire Breaks Out At Middletown Lawyer's Office Thursday
A fire broke out Thursday morning at a lawyer's office on Navesink River Road:
MIDDLETOWN, NJ — A fire broke out Thursday morning in a lawyer's office in Middletown, according to the Middletown Fire Department.
The office is located on the 1-20 block of Navesink River Road.
It was an employee who first called 911 at 9:10 a.m. to report the fire. When Middletown firefighters got there, they found heavy smoke inside the entire building, with the heaviest smoke coming from the back of the one-story wood frame structure.

Middletown Fire Dept. Deputy Chief Waltz requested additional backup units and a hose from the nearest fire hydrant 200 feet away.
No employees were inside the structure and all fire was found and extinguished. However, the office sustained heavy smoke damage throughout and the room where the fire started was burned, said firefighters.

The exact cause of the fire is being investigated by the Middletown Township Fire Marshal’s office under the direction of Fire Marshal Edward Skelly.
Approximately 25 firefighters from five companies of the Middletown Township Fire Department responded to the call from Navesink, Middletown Fire Company No.1, River Plaza Hose, Lincroft Fire and Old Village Fire companies. Additionally the MTFD Air Unit, Fire Police and the Safety Unit also responded.
Middletown EMS provided medical services to rehabilitate two firefighters, who became fatigued. No other firefighter injuries were reported.
