Fire Occurs In Port Monmouth Home Monday
The fire broke out at 12:20 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15 in a private home on the 300 block of Main Street, near Twilight Lane.
MIDDLETOWN, NJ — There was a house fire Monday afternoon in the Port Monmouth section of Middletown.
The fire broke out at 12:20 p.m. Monday, Jan. 15 in a private home on the 300 block of Main Street, at the intersection of Twilight Lane, according to the Middletown Fire Department.
Firefighters did not release the cause of the fire Tuesday morning; it remains under investigation.

Middletown Fire Chief William Kane, Jr. responded and confirmed a working fire showing from the chimney, with smoke also coming from eves of the structure. Units from the Port Monmouth Fire Company and the East Keansburg Fire Company responded and were able to knock down the fire in quick fashion. Belford Engine Fire Company also responded as the Rapid Intervention Team.
A total of 35 Middletown volunteer firefighters responded. No injuries were reported. Middletown EMS also responded.

The fire is currently under investigation by the Middletown Township Fire Marshall’s office under the direction of Edward “Buddy” Skelly.
