Four Veterans Join Middletown Police Force
The four new officers, who all have military experience, were sworn in this month.

Four new police officers, all with military experience, have joined the Middletown Police Department.
Patrolmen Ekne J. Montalvo Jr., Julian S. Reis, Shane P. Hall, and Nicholas Manochio, were sworn in earlier this month.

Montalvo, 35, is U.S. Army veteran who now serves in the National Guard. He served a tour of duty in Iraq, and he has received the Army Achievement Medal, three National Defense Service medals, Kosovo Campaigning Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and NATO Medal. He also has experience as a Federal Corrections Officer. He lives in Eatontown.
Reis, 29, had worked for the Hudson County Department of Corrections and as a military police officer in the U.S. Navy. He has received the Army Commendation Medal and Army Achievement. He is a graduate of Kearney High School and now lives in Eatontown.

Hall, 25, served in the U.S. Army as a military police officer. He is a member of the Army Reserves and has received an Afghanistan campaign medal with one campaign star, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M-device, NATO medal, New Jersey State Distinguished Service Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal with 5-year device, Army Reserve Good Conduct Medal, Driver and Mechanic Badge, Marksman M-4 badge, and Expert M-9 badge. He is a graduate of Middletown High School North and lives in town.
Manochio, 29, is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He has received the Good Conduct Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Sea Service Deployment ribbon, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Certificate of Commendation, and Meritorious Mast. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree from Capella University. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Phoenix in Organization Security and Management. He lives in Manalapan.
