Author Dr. Bruno created Gateway in 1997 to help a young boy named Frankie with cerebral palsy communicate and achieve academic requirements.   Gateway is comprised of single words that can be joined together to create longer messages. Over the years, Dr. Bruno has added to and changed Gateway to reflect a variety of developmental levels, types of communicators, and changes in technology.

This 1 hour webinar will provide an overview of the revised and updated Gateway to Language and Learning page sets for the DynaVox T10 and DynaVox Compass App.  Participants in this webinar will learn about changes to the Gateway Paradigm, new text page sets, updates to symbols and vocabulary and additions to the Theme pages.  Key features of the page set will be explained in order to help participants make informed decisions about which Gateway version best meets the needs of the targeted user. 

Joan Bruno is a speech-language pathologist and the Director of Communication Technology Resources. She has over 30 years of experience in the field of AAC and has published and presented nationally and internationally on AAC assessment and intervention.  Since 1991, Joan has directed Camp  Chatterbox, an award winning AAC camp
