Gas in Middletown Drops To $2 Per Gallon For Labor Day Weekend
In nearby towns, gas prices have dropped under $2 a gallon.

If you’re planning on driving this Labor Day weekend, it may be easier on your pockets than you were expecting.
According to GasBuddy.com, which compiles and compares fuel prices at 130,000 gas stations across the nation, the average price of a gallon of gasoline in New Jersey has dropped to $2.07 as of Wednesday.

And prices are still dropping, the website states.
In Middletown, gas prices have dropped to $2.09 a gallon (cash) at Craig’s gas station on Route 35 north, near New Monmouth Road, according to GasBuddy.com.

And nearby, at the 76 gas station on Route 36 north, in Belford section of town, gas is reportedly selling for $2.05 a gallon.
According to that website, in some parts of Monmouth County, gasoline prices have dropped below $2 a gallon:
- Marlboro: $1.93 a gallon at the Raceway on Route 9 south and Kilmer Drive
- Marlboro: $1.96 a gallon at Exxon, Route 9 north and Marlboro Road
- Manalapan: $1.93 a gallon at Valero, Route 9 south near Tennent Road
- Manalapan: $1.94 a gallon at the 76 gas station on Route 9 south near Sandburg Drive
- Aberdeen: $1.95 a gallon at Raceway, Route 34 north and South Atlantic Avenue
According to AAA-Mid Atlantic, the recent drop in gas prices to “sagging crude oil prices.”
