Halloween Costume Swap Sept. 30 At Fort Monmouth

Before you duck into those Halloween costume stores that have been popping up all over, consider the annual Monmouth County Costume Swap.

TINTON FALLS, NJ — Yes, it's time to start thinking about Halloween 2018! And before you duck into those Halloween costume stores that have been popping up all over, consider the annual Monmouth County Costume Swap.

Held every year — this year the swap will be Sunday, September 30 from 12-2 p.m. at the Fort Monmouth Recreation Center, Tinton Falls — Monmouth County residents are invited to drop off old costumes and clothing, and pick up something new.

Drop off a costume and receive a token entitling you to a “new” costume on the day of the swap. Costume drop-offs will be accepted Monday-Friday, September 24-28 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and on Saturday, September 29 from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Costume drop-offs can be done at the following locations:

  • Dorbrook Recreation Area Visitor Center, Colts Neck;
  • Fort Monmouth Recreation Center, Tinton Falls;
  • Huber Woods Environmental Center, Middletown;
  • Manasquan Reservoir Environmental Center, Howell; and
  • Thompson Park Visitor Center, Lincroft.

The Fort Monmouth Recreation Center will accept costumes from 8 a.m. through closing. Please call 848-456-4278 for times. “New” costumes can then be selected during the swap on Sunday, September 30 from 12-2 p.m. at the Fort Monmouth Recreation Center, Tinton Falls. Almost due or have a newborn? Just bring your bump or your baby to pick out a costume for free on the day of the event.
