MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Thorne Middle School has a chance at winning $10,000 and you can help! Thorne was selected by WPIX Channel 11 for a chance at winning $10,000 as part of the TV station's contest “Fuel My Schools.”
Thorne was selected out of over 500 middle schools as a finalist to win the grand prize. WPIX 11 was at the school Monday, interviewing five students. On Friday morning, Nov. 3, look for Thorne's segment to air at 7:40 a.m. on the WPIX 11 Morning News (channel 11).
Starting Friday at 8:00 a.m. through 9 a.m. Tuesday text the word CRAIG to phone # 77944. IMPORTANT: You are allowed to vote four times: Once on Friday, once Saturday, once Sunday and once Monday. Thorne will find out Monday if they won.

The winner is selected purely by the number of texts sent. If Thorne won, they would spend the money on possibly re-designing the media center, creating maker-spacers and making it more of a technology hub, said Thorne principal Tom Olausen. Special-ed teacher Kristyn Corace was the one who originally submitted Thorne for the competition.
