Introducing Ocean Avenue School's New Preschool Playground!
Young kids have a brand new outdoor playground thanks to Hope for Children Foundation, Middletown Board of Education, and Port Monmouth-based Whirl Construction.
Ocean Avenue School in Middletown is the recipient of a new pre school playground this week.
As a result of a generous donation from the Hope For Children Foundation, Ocean Ave was able to choose a playground that will fill the needs of it's growing pre school program.
The pre school children now have a playground which is age appropriate and located in the schools courtyard area.
HFCF, based in Middletown, was founded in 2002, has a simple but powerful goal which is to get together with family, friends and colleagues to make a difference in our community.
Members of HFCF contacted Ocean Ave School Principal Cynthia Wilson with the idea of giving back to Wilson's school community. Conversations commenced shortly after Superstorm Sandy. The idea for a dedicated play space for the pre schoolers at Ocean Ave was born.
HFCF members Marbeth Walz and Pete Smith reached out to Whirl Construction, from Port Monmouth, to assist in securing and constructing the most appropriate toddler playground for the school.
Whirl Construction also provided a poured in place rubber safety surface system which acts as a shock absorber in the event of falls from the playground. Whirl Construction has been installing playgrounds throughout New Jersey since 1982.
The pre school playground is sure to be a hit for many years to come.
