House Fire Wednesday Morning In Middletown's Port Monmouth Section
There was a house fire Wednesday morning on the 100 block of Brainard Avenue in Port Monmouth:
MIDDLETOWN, NJ — There was a house fire Wednesday morning on the 100 block of Brainard Avenue in the Port Monmouth section of Middletown:
The call of the fire came in sometime around 7 a.m. and Middletown Fire Marshall Edward “Buddy” Skelly was already in the area when he arrived to find heavy smoke conditions coming from the residence.
Volunteer firefighters from Port Monmouth Fire Company and East Keansburg Fire Company were met with heavy smoke and fire conditions coming from the back of the home, extending into the attic.

Firefighters engaged in an aggressive fire suppression attack and were able to knock the fire down quickly. Chief Waltz declared the fire under control at 7:45 a.m.
In total, 34 firefighters responded to the incident from Port Monmouth Fire Company, East Keansburg Fire Company, Belford Engine Fire Company, Belford Independent Fire Company and Community Fire Company.

Due to extensive damage inside the home, the American Red Cross was activated to assist.
