Winter Storm Iola will blow into Holmdel-Hazlet this weekend, bringing freezing rain, ice, and yes, even some snow.

The nor’easter, which could bring nearly a half-a-foot of snow to parts of New Jersey, is slated to strike the region beginning late Friday, and last until Saturday morning.

The National Weather Service is predicting a 100 percent chance of snow tonight, a wintery mix tomorrow, with snow likely falling into Saturday night. A total accumulation of up to four inches could fall in Holmdel-Hazlet this weekend.

The National Weather Service has issued a “Winter Weather Advisory,” in effect from 9 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday, for snow and freezing rain covering nearly all of New Jersey.

On Saturday, ice accumulation, freezing rain, and more snow could cause treacherous conditions for drivers. There will up to one inch of new snow on Saturday, as well as ice accumulation. Drivers are urged to proceed with caution and watch out for black ice.

Little to no snow is expected for Sunday night with lows around 23 degrees. There is a 50 percent chance of snow on Sunday night. There is also a 50 percent chance of snow on Monday, the NWS reports.
