IMA Urgent Care Collecting Back-To-School Supplies For Local Kids
IMA Urgent Care offered to host the drive after Patch was notified about a Port Monmouth single mom who couldn't afford new school supplies.
PORT MONMOUTH, NJ — This August, IMA Urgent Care Centers will be hosting a very special Back-To-School Supplies Drive to benefit local children.
IMA Urgent Care Center has locations in Middletown, Hazlet and Shrewsbury and this drive will help needy families all over the Bayshore. IMA Urgent Care generously offered to host this particular drive after a social worker contacted the Middletown Patch, saying there was a single mother in need who lives in the Port Monmouth section. The woman's daughter attends Port Monmouth elementary and the woman cannot afford to buy her daughter new fall school supplies, or clothes.
The Back-to-School Supply Drive will run Monday, August 5 through Monday, August 19. All IMA Urgent Care locations will be accepting new and unopened school supplies such as water-based markers, pens, pencils, crayons, 3-ring binders, spiral notebooks and more. For this one particular girl, people can also drop off clothing: The Port Monmouth girl is average in size and height for a 10-year-old and wears sizes 11/12 in girls clothing. She has requested a few jeggings, legging and skinny jeans with a few matching tops and a new or gently worn pair of sneakers, shoes or boots; shoe size is 3.5-4.

“It’s important for children to start the school year off right. And helping them have the right tools to perform well in school is one way to kick off a great school year,” said Dr. Roger Thompson, IMA president who himself lives in Middletown. "At IMA Urgent Care we feel it is important to help those in our area."
