IMA Urgent Care Port Monmouth Offers $10 Sports Physicals

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — Bayshore Moms and Dads, it's that time of year again! Does your son or daughter need their sports physical to participate on fall sports teams?

IMA Urgent Care's Port Monmouth location will be offering school sports physicals Monday-Friday of this week from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., by appointment, for $10. The doctors' office told Patch they were contemplating offering the physicals for free to help folks who may not have insurance. But under the current medical laws, they had to charge something, so the physicals are now $10.

All schools in New Jersey require a student to have a sports physical to play in a school sport. Having a sports physical may bring awareness of an issue with the student-athlete before it becomes a major issue on the playing field.

The physicals include vital signs, eye exam, flexibility and joint movement, fitness assessment and medical history overview. (*Some additional services may not be included for that price, such as required blood work).

IMA Urgent Care Port Monmouth is located at 363 Rt. 36, Port Monmouth.
