Info. On Middletown North v. South Thanksgiving Day Football Game
Last year, the game was canceled (due to coronavirus) and then reinstated at the last minute after a huge outcry. Much less drama in 2021:
MIDDLETOWN, NJ — This year's annual Middletown North vs. Middletown South football game, always played on the morning of Thanksgiving Day, is on as usual.
In 2020, the beloved Thanksgiving Day game was at first canceled by superintendent Mary Ellen Walker due to coronavirus fears, and then hastily reinstated after there was a mass outcry from Middletown parents and students.
About 700 Middletown parents and teens signed this petition to reinstate the game, which has a 45-year history in Middletown.
