Join A New Year's Day Walk On Sandy Hook
Ring in 2023 with a five-mile organized walk through the dunes to the tip of Sandy Hook. Get some fresh air, exercise and you may see seals:

HIGHLANDS, NJ — As they do on the first day of January every year, the American Littoral Society will host an organized walk on Sandy Hook on New Year's day.
There's no better way to celebrate the New Year than a walk through the dunes to the tip of Sandy Hook, Gateway National Recreation Area.
All are welcome to join them from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023. They ask that you register in advance. There is no cost. Register here: https://www.littoralsociety.or...

They will meet at 11 am. at the Littoral Society headquarters at Officers' Row, Building 18. Plug in this for exact GPS directions:

Says the group:
"Help us ring in the new year with a brisk walk to the tip of Sandy Hook. When we get there, we will attempt to signal the group hiking with the Northeast Chapter to the end of Breezy Point. Expect to walk about five miles. Dress for the weather."
Anyone can leave the walk at any point and turn back.
Also, on Saturdays all throughout January - March, the Littoral Society will host seal and winter wildlife cruises aboard the Seastreak ferry.
