Registration is open for MTPL’s 2026 Unearth a Story Summer Reading Challenge: Visit mtpl.org to join a summer reading challenge using the library’s Beanstack reading platform. Logging begins on June 22 and ends August 1.
Summer Storytime – Wednesdays at 10 a.m.: Join us for a weekly story time for ages 3–8 every Wednesday this summer.

Duplo Free Play – Fridays at 11 a.m.: Bring your little builders for open-ended Duplo playtime! Ages 2+ are invited to get creative, build big and have fun together — no registration needed.
Teen Journaling Workshop – Wednesday, June 10 at 7 p.m.: Decorate your own journal and discuss different journaling techniques at the Community History Project event for teens.

Exploration Stations: Dinosaur – Thursday, June 11 at 10 a.m.: Discover the magic of learning through play with a special dinosaur-themed Exploration Stations program. Ages 1–5 will journey through sensory play stations that stimulate children’s senses and curiosity while promoting early literacy, cognitive development and improving social skills.
Community Leader Storytime – Saturday, June 13 at 10 a.m.: Parks & Recreation Director Janet Dellett well read stories and talk about our Middletown parks and the services provided by Parks and Recreation Department at the final community leader storytime before summer break.
Gymboree for Babies – Tuesday, June 16 at 12:30 p.m.: A Gymboree experience specially designed for newborns to 7 months, featuring music, props, a floor mirror, parachute, and bubbles.
Father's Day Craft – Tuesday, June 16 at 4:30 p.m.: Create Father’s Day crafts with the Bayshore Family Success Center.
Dinosaur Storytime & Craft at Monmouth Museum – Saturday, June 20 at 11 a.m.: Meet us in the Monmouth Museum’s dinosaur exhibit for a special storytime & craft in celebration of this year’s “Unearth a Story” summer reading theme! No registration is needed.
Teen Movie Night – Wednesday, June 24 at 5:30 p.m.: Celebrate America’s 250th with a special Teen Room screening of the hit Broadway musical, Hamilton! Snacks will be provided, please be mindful of allergies.
Dinosaur Arise Summer Kickoff – Thursday, June 25 at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.: Meet and interact with Terry the T-Rex and his other realistic animatronic dinosaur and puppet friends, hear a story, and dig for fossils at this fun and interactive Unearth a Story program for ages 3 and up.
