Keansburg Man Charged With Child Endangerment Of Middletown Youth

Police say he offered a juvenile victim money if the youth exposed intimate body parts to him. The victim is from Middletown.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ — A Keansburg man was taken into police custody Wednesday night, after police say he offered a juvenile victim money in exchange for the victim exposing intimate body parts to him. The victim is from Middletown.

Marcus Brady, 42, of Keansburg, was taken into police custody and charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

The day earlier, Tuesday of this week, Middletown Police say the child and the child's parents came to police and reported the alleged crime.

Police say Brady made two separate offers to the Middletown victim, who declined to do soon both occasions. The relationship between Brady and the juvenile is unknown.

“We take crimes of this nature extremely seriously and will spare no effort to apprehend would-be predators seeking to harm innocent children and ensure that they are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law," said Middletown Police Chief R. Craig Weber in a statement Friday announcing Brady's arrest.

"I want to thank the victim and the victim’s family for having the courage to come forward and thank our Detective Bureau for the swift arrest they made in this case.”

Brady was transported to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold. Brady has been lodged and is awaiting a retention hearing in Monmouth County Superior Court.
