Held from 3-6 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, this derby is open to beginners as well as experienced anglers.

PORT MONMOUTH, NJ — Get hooked on fishing when the Monmouth County Park System hosts its annual Bayshore Fishing Derby at Bayshore Waterfront Park in late August!
Held from 3-6 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, this derby is open to beginners as well as experienced anglers. The fishing derby will be held at Bayshore Waterfront Park, which is located on Port Monmouth Road in Port Monmouth.
Staff with the Monmouth County park system will be on hand to teach those just getting started how to rig and cast their poles. The event will also feature seining demonstrations.

The cost to enter the derby is $8 per person; $4 per additional person. Pre-registration is accepted online at www.MonmouthCountyParks.com or by calling 732-842-4000, ext. 1. Onsite registration is by cash or check only. Participants must supply their own fishing poles, tackle and bait. Those competing must fish from the beach.
Prizes will be awarded for the longest fish in three different age categories.
